Princess Sophie Kate, as she was referred to, was given the royal treatment as she was transformed into Cinderella.
Since it was raining pretty hard outside the boys opted to stay for Sophie Kate's makeover. At one point, one of them had her shoes, one had her crown and one had her royal scepter, I don't even think they realized it, but it was so sweet. They are always taking care of her.
Grey was asked to pick out SK's makeup, he chose pink eye shadow and pink lip gloss.
And of course the look was topped of with a crown that was chosen by the Queen....yes, that would be me, ha ha.
The finishing touches...
Love this one of SK looking at herself in the mirror.
Our Precious Princess
Sophie Kate was treated to a photo shoot afterwards by the Disney photographers and the pictures we got turned out so good. Everyone involved was so good with her, they were all so kind and patient. I had no idea what they would really be able to do or not do, but there wasn't a "no" in their vocabulary. She truly got the royal treatment, I will never forget it.
I bet your wondering how SK got around in the rain that morning, aren't you? Well, here's your answer...
Ok, that only takes us to about mid morning in the Magic Kingdom. The boys had been super patient at the Boutique so we were off to ride some rides rain or shine...or in this case I'll just say rain. Grey was begging to ride Dumbo because it was the only one he could see from where we were, so off we went. We did a few other rides in Fantasyland before we headed off to Adventureland. Oh boy did we find some crowd pleasers over there by the name of Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
They rode each one to their hearts content, the lines were not bad at all. They rode so much that they declared they must be in the front every time, so check out the front row in each of the next two pictures.

Look who we found hanging out at Splash Mountain...
Woody and Jessie
Please note that we had shed our ponchos at this point, the rain had stopped and the sun was trying off and on to break through the clouds. I can't tell y'all how much I fretted about this dang weather...well, too much I will say that. It stopped raining by lunch time and even though we thought at any moment it might start back up it never did.
Next we headed over to Pirates of the Caribbean, where we found Goofy...
Is that Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty next to Goofy?
I have so many pictures of Grey like the one above, he was always looking at the characters, it was so cute.
Sophie Kate continued her sleeping processional right into the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. She woke up before we got on the boat though.
Next we headed over to Tomorrowland and the much anticipated Buzz Lightyear ride.
We ran into Stitch over there as well...
As you can see, SK is still trying to come out of her fog of sleep.
On to the teacups, the boys were told this wasn't an option and they must smile...ha ha, they were very good about it.
SK with her daddy on the teacups...
Please remain seated until the ride comes to a complete stop, Grey!!
Ahhh, looks like that woke her up.
While standing in line at the Tomorrowland Speedway, we saw a rainbow over Space Mountain, even though the sky was gray we were still dry.
Grey drove our car but I had to push the gas because he was too short to reach it. Cooper was in the car behind us, all Grey wanted was to beat him. Little did Grey know that we were all on the same track, we were a sure bet to win.
And that's Jacob behind Cooper in the yellow car coming around the corner.
Sophie Kate and I then went to claim our spot for the Electrical Parade, one of my favorite things at the Magic Kingdom. I remember the Electrical Parade from when I was a child and came to Disney with my parents. I laid SK's blankets out on the ground and got her out of her stroller to stretch out a bit.
Waiting on the parade to start...
And she's out again...
I think she liked all the lights and music...
There's nothing like being at Cinderella's Castle again, this time with all my children. I love the way the castle looks at night.Grey and Sophie Kate watching the fireworks over the castle...Disney wonder at it's height.
Alright by this time it is probably 10:30 or so, you would think we would be wrapping things up for the day, huh? Not this group, if you just keep feeding them they keep on going. So at about 11:30 we found ourselves eating nachos, fries, ice cream, etc, pretty much all rules had been thrown out the window on the first day.
On this particular day in the Magic Kingdom they were having "extra magic hours" from 11pm-2am. That's right, if you could handle it and you were staying on Disney property then you got to get your Bippity Boppity on until the wee hours of the morning. My thinking with this was two fold: #1 We will leave whenever it starts raining and #2 We will leave when people start falling apart. We made it until 1:30, well some of us did...
If your keeping track that's nap #3 for our Princess and yes she stayed in costume all day (and night) long.
Some pics from the Carousel in Fantasyland, one of SK's favorites.
If your wondering why we have the ponchos back on, it's because we got chilly once the sun went down and so all of us except Chad put our ponchos back on in hopes of creating some body heat up in there.
I think this one of SK was taken on It's a Small World. We had our pick of rides, we just walked right up and got on whatever we wanted. Just so you know there aren't that many people in the Magic Kingdom at 1:00am, the boys rode all their favorites over and over again.
One of the things I have said about SK from time to time is that she turns into a pumpkin after 10:00 or so. Turns out that's not true at all, sister hung in there like a champ. Here she is in that sweet moment of relaxation when head meets pillow, always a princess.
I know this post has been super long, but we were there until 1:30am so deal with it, ha ha. It was the absolute best day. The highlights for me were the Electrical Parade and Fireworks over Cinderella's Castle. All that talk about wishes, never growing up and making memories had me feeling warm and fuzzy all over. Riding all those Fantasyland rides with my children was so special, in addition to Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain Railroad with the boys. I certainly can't leave out the Bippity Boppity Boutique with my girl either...that was the best. Ok, ok my favorite was all of it...all of it with all of them.
The Disney magic was in full force and it was just our first day in the parks, stay tuned it only gets better and better. Thanks for checking in on us.
