Opening Day

Opening Day 2011...

 2 Cardinals and a Pirate

 Jacob's Cardinals

SK got her face painted...

Our weeknights and weekends right now revolve around practices, games, gathering equipment, refilling water bottles and lots of laundry which includes jersey's, practice shirts, baseball pants with all manner of dirt and grass stains on them, and the most funky smelling socks on the planet.

Spring baseball is something we have kept going for the boys even through the difficult times we experienced after Sophie Kate was born.  It was very important to Chad and I that the boys continued on with the things they enjoyed despite what was going inside our home.

There have been times that SK has been in the hospital during baseball season, but thanks to family and friends, everything fell into place for the boys to continue playing.  They need to know that it's not all about SK all the time.  They need to know that we are there for them and support them 100% and when we can we will move heaven and earth to show them that.

We are taking in this season of life, things are manageable and doable (if that's a word) and SK loves being outside at the ballpark, so her and I will be there as often as we can supporting and cheering our boys on.

Thanks for checking in on us.

A Happy Birthday

We'll start this one off with more birthday parties for G-man, since today is his actual "born on" day.  He shared this one at my parent's house with his cousin Bowen.

Grey is under the impression that with each birthday party he turns a year older.  So counting tonight's family celebration...that would make him 7 according to his calculations, ha ha!  Happy 5th Birthday Grey, I laugh with you and at you every day, you are so fun!!

SK definitely knows when someone is talking to her, she loves when she's the center of attention.

Grey loves taking Duchess on walks...

Those boys and their boots, for the most part it was what I found them in almost every day of Spring Break.  They were either putting on boots, taking off boots, or my personal favorite, looking for their boots.

S'mores by the bonfire...

Our little princess sitting out by the bonfire...

Exploring the woods...

I really like how the picture above turned out of my niece Emma Claire, wish I knew what I did, but sadly I have no idea how I got the blurry background with the clear image of EC in the foreground.

SK loves her cousin, can you tell?

Cool moon on our bonfire night...

And I threw this last one in just because I like it and I can...

We didn't have time to longingly dwell over our Spring Break for very long once we got back, cause the boys went from wearing boots to wearing these...

Yep it was Opening Day at the ballpark for us this weekend, good times.

Thanks for checking in on us.

Cover Girl

For all of our out of town family and friends, I wanted to share with you our little cover girl...

Miss Sassy is featured in our hometown magazine, The Bridge.  Thanks to everyone involved and for all the kind words we've received.  We love this community and are so blessed to be a part of it.

Now for some Spring Break pictures...

 He's always watching over she.

This next collection of pictures is what I like to call "You might be a redneck if..."

I thought these boys were going to fall in and totally drench themselves at any moment, but they never did.  Now they were filthy, don't get me wrong, but no one ever unintentionally fell in which I thought was quite an accomplishment given all the craziness that was going on over there.  They had no idea I was photographing them, I was being totally stealth.

Love this one of SK and my niece Olivia.

Her beauty astounds me, this type of beauty is not just what you can see.  It originates from the core of who she is and cannot help but come out and be felt by everyone around her...or maybe it's just cause I'm her mom and I think she's awesome!

There are many more pictures to be shared from Spring Break, but I didn't want to over do it.

Thanks for checking in on us.

Back to Reality

This is the opposite of the way we all felt this morning getting up for school...

It's hard coming back to reality after a week off.  I am remembering those sweet smiles and the fun we had last week at my parent's house.

I will get back to proper blogging when I can come up for air.  Our Spring Break would not be complete without a trip to Urgent Care.  It's that accident prone middle son again, Jacob took a nasty fall on his bike over the weekend.  His knee took the worst of it although there is evidence of said trauma on his leg, hip, shoulder and face...of course there is, it's Jacob...he doesn't do anything half way.

We were too late for stitches (note to self, those have to be done w/in the first 6-8 hours of the injury), so they cleaned him up and patched him up best they could and sent us on our way with some antibiotics and a "he'll have a pretty impressive scar when it's all said and done."  Tell me about it, story of our livesWe'll at least it's one of the boys, b/c they would have had to make that look a whole lot prettier if that had been my baby girl.

I'm missin' my babies today, I'll be sharing our Spring Break pictures soon.

Thanks for checking in on us.

Spring Break So Far...

Here's the view from SK's world this week...

The view from their world...

More partying for G-man...

Sophie Kate meeting her newest cousin, Olivia...

Falling asleep in the warm afternoon sun, just one more perk of a no scheduled Spring Break...

Enjoying the beautiful weather in Mississippi, enjoying our time here with friends and family.

Grey's 1st 5th Birthday Party

We kicked off our Spring Break with a Birthday Party for a certain 4 year old who is turning 5.

I'm not sure if you can tell, but he's still a huge Star Wars fan.  We have been a having a Star Wars: The Clone Wars birthday party for this kid for 3 years now.

Boys and their video games, it starts at an early age.

Thank goodness SK and I are used to being outnumbered at home, b/c this party was heavy on the XY chromosomes.

There were two birthday boys and two birthday cakes at this party, Grey and his best bud Jacob celebrated together this year.  I love his face in the picture below.

This was Grey's first kid party, usually we just have a family party for him.  I think the expression on his face says it all.

Boys ruled at this party...

We saved the present opening for when we got home...

Seeing as how Grey's real birthday isn't until March 28, I am thinking that this boy is going to try stretch out the cake and presents for the whole month of March.  He will be having another party when we are at my parent's house over Spring Break.

He's going to be impossible to deal with by the time March 28th rolls around and I will have no one to blame but myself for creating this birthday monster.  It's fun while it lasts though.

It was a good start to our Spring Break.  Thanks for checking in on us.
